Let’s continue our tapas kick and add these Philly cheesesteak sliders to the table. They are so delicious, cheesy, and packed full of flavor. These are perfect for serving as an appetizer or tapa, game-day snack, or family weekday dinner. Sweet Hawaiian rolls, with tender steak bites, onion, and green pepper sofrito, and of course, cheese!
These Philly Cheesesteak sliders are very easy to prepare with my step by step instructions and very popular at my dinner table. They are a little bit messy to eat if you load it up to much, but who doesn’t love that oozy cheesy goodness.
Philly Cheesesteak Sliders Recipe
Sweet Hawaiian rolls with a cheesy, onion, green pepper, and juicy steak inside. The best party snack, appetizer, or family meal.
INGREDIENTS
2 large steaks thinly sliced (I used sirloin steak, but must be thin slices)
½ cup Mojo Criollo / Mojo Marinade
Salt and pepper to taste
1 green pepper
½ yellow onion
2 cloves garlic
½ tsp oregano
½ tsp worcestershire sauce
12 rolls of Hawaiian Bread
Mayonnaise optional
Chimichurri optional
¼ cup Colby Jack shredded cheese
3 slices of Havarti Cheese
Butter Garlic Spread
1 tsp Garlic Spread (or 1 tsp garlic powder + ½ tsp parsley)
1 tbsp butter
Directions
Add the mojo to your steaks and leave marinating for at least 30 minutes. Once ready to cook, add the salt and pepper to both sides.
Drizzle a little bit of olive oil in a pan and turn heat to medium high. Once hot (about 350F), add the steaks.
Cook each side of the steaks for about 2-3 min.
While the steaks are cooking. Chop the onion, pepper, and garlic.
Add the oregano and Worcestershire sauce and sautee in a pan over medium heat.
Once the steak is cooked, chop it into small pieces or strips (however you prefer).
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Slice your Hawiian rolls in half.
On both sides of the bread rolls, spread some mayonnaise and chimichurri (optional). This will add extra flavor to the sliders and my family loves it.
Add some cheese.
Add your steak
Add your sauteed oinon and pepper mix
Add more cheese.
Place the top half of your bread.
Cover with aluminum foil and place in the oven for 20 minutes.
While your sliders are in the oven, prepare the garlic spread. Melt the butter and add the garlic spread.
After 20 min in the oven, remove the sliders and the aluminum foil. Spread the garlic butter over the top of the buns. Place in the oven again for an additional 10 minutes or until toasted.
Remove and serve warm.
I hope you enjoyed these as much as my family and I love them. If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.
