Unbelievably Easy Plantain Chips Recipe
Can’t you tell by now how obsessed I am with Plantains! I love every form and especially love plantain chips. They are so easy to make and delicious to snack on or serve as a side. They are crispy chips made from green plantain and topped off with some salt.
They are commonly served as an appetizer, side dish, or even a snack. They can be served with garlic mojo (garlic sauce). The sauce pictured here was a garlic herb olive oil sauce which was also very good. However, they don’t need any sauce and I would be perfectly happy eating these without sauce.
Miami has many options for buying plantain chips already made, but homemade chips are so much better. I always make mine and devour them, sometimes even before they reach the table.
Ingredients
2 Green Plantains
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Directions
Peel each plantain and cut into thin slices. You can use a knife or a slice grater.
Heat oil to 350°F.
Place chips in the oil and fry until golden, about 3-4 minutes. Flip half way.
Once golden, remove from oil and salt to taste.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I do! If you liked this recipe, I would love to hear about it below, leave me a comment below.
